Crepe Myrtles are lovely trees full of tiny blooms in a rainbow of colors. They are native to the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, northern Australia, and parts of Oceania but they thrive in warm climates all over the world. Their flowers are crepe-like in texture (hence the nickname Crepe Myrtle) and very long-lasting. Fun fact, the genus (Lagerstroemia) is named after Magnus von Lagerström, a Swedish merchant and director of the Swedish East India Company who supplied the famous Carl Linnaeus with the plants.
