Creeping Beggarweed is a familiar sight in Florida. Native to Central and South America, they have spread through Florida, the southern United States, Hawai’i, and other Pacific Islands. They have hairy, sticky seed pods that stick to everything. Technically called burs, I grew up called them ‘stickers’. Though a common weed, their vibrant purple-pink flowers are quite lovely.
