I love dragonflies. They are so delicate looking but such fast and agile flyers. Some species have a larval stage that lasts up to five years but their adult stage is short lived. Most species have an adult lifespan of five weeks or less although some can approach ten weeks. Some unlucky dragonfly species only have an adult lifespan of a few days.
